Deeply rooted in the landscape of the Smokies, Celeste Rudd combines a lifelong love for nature with a sophisticated background in urban innovation and entrepreneurship. An alumna of Walters State and the Memphis College of Art, Celeste’s approach to art is as much about strategy as it is about soul. This was best evidenced during her residency with the Memphis Medical District Collaborative, where she launched a Public Art Fund that empowered 18 local artists to transform the cityscape through murals, signage for desired behavior, traffic calming and large-scale way-finding.

This experience—refined by her time in the ImagineU program at the University of Memphis—now informs her work in East Tennessee. Whether she is overseeing retail operations at the Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts or pulling prints at her own studio, Crudd Ink, Celeste remains a fierce advocate for the

"hand-made" and the humans that make things. Her practice bridges the gap between industrial history and modern sustainability, ensuring that art remains a vital, human-centered force for collective well-being.
